Environmental protection, responsible management using only the limited existing natural resources, are the global challenges of the decades to come. Linked with its industrial development, the State of Baden-Württemberg took on this elemental task more quickly than most other states. Nearly 20 % of the environmental products produced in Germany come from this state in the German Southwest; they are produced by approx. 600 companies.
The structure of most of these enterprises is primarily small- or medium-sized. For the divers demands in environmental protection, they offer solutions that are technologically developed down to each detail, based on long-time experience in each of their respective specialized areas. It is these approaches to tailored solutions that build the foundation for the high efficiency and trustworthyness of these plants and technologies.
In 1997, the Baden-Württemberg Industry Association (LVI) founded the "Environmental Project Headquarter" as a department of the LVI Consultancy and Service Agency Ltd. Its task is to pave the way through the world export markets for the producers and service providers of environmental technologies in Baden-Württemberg.
The establishment of the existing company data base is a part of this project. Here, one can find companies from different environmental sectors, specified by main and one-on-one product groups as well as through company related information. These companies are all export-oriented and/or interested in expanding their business relations in other countries.
The work of the "Environmental Project Headquarter", which largely serves environmental protection as well as the economy of Baden-Württemberg, is given ideas and is financially supported by the Ministry of Economic Affairs in Baden-Württemberg.
